Hi, I'm Hannah
A warm welcome to my website! Thank you for your interest in my services and for exploring my website.
I have a BSc (Hons) Clinical Language Sciences (Speech and Language Therapy) degree from Leeds Beckett University (2015) and BA (Hons) Theatre and English Literature degree from York St John University College, College of Leeds University (2008). I often utilise the skillsets from both my degrees to support positive total communication environments and support individuals to align purposeful communication both verbally and non-verbally.
I am a member of the Association of Speech and Language Therapists In Independent Practice (ASLTIP), a certified member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists, and registered with Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

My career journey
Throughout my career as a Speech and Language Therapist I have worked in various environments, including Forensic Mental Health, a Community Learning Disability service, Inpatient services for older Adults who have been sectioned under the Mental Health Act, an Autism Assessment Team and school for children with Social Emotional and Mental Health Needs. In 2019, I completed my training with the Ministry of Justice to become a Registered Intermediary and have supported numerous adults and children with SLCN and/or Mental Health needs to provide their evidential account and be cross examined in Court.

I also work with individuals with behaviours that challenge to assess their eating and drinking difficulties (dysphagia). If you are a care home or secure Mental Health setting and struggling to access Speech and Language Therapy on the NHS due to an individual’s behaviours that challenge, I may be able to assist in understanding their needs and finding safe textures or solutions to promote positive experiences when eating and drinking.

My Ethos
I have a passion for promoting effective communication within all environments and finding creative and person-centred solutions to helping individuals connect, communicate and thrive, whether non-verbal, developing skillsets in specific areas, or wanting to enhance their ability to communicate. I have a strong interest in developing social communication skills and helping individuals to experience and enhance meaningful connections in their lives.
I understand and value the positive and powerful impact that hydration and nutrition brings to our lives and how challenging dysphagia can be for individuals who experience eating and drinking difficulties across the different stages of eating and swallowing. I strive to support individuals to enjoy their drinks and meal times and if appropriate find safer texture options to help them continue to enjoy the meals that bring joy and comfort.
