  • Can I only just have therapy?
All new referrals will require a screening and assessment period to understand the individual’s specific needs at this current time. This is to ensure that recommendations and therapeutic goals are reflective of the individuals speech, language and communication needs or dysphagia. I am happy to review any previous reports, recommendations and documents you may have relating to previous assessments and interventions. These help me to build a holistic picture of individuals I am working with and their therapeutic journey so far. Please make me aware of any previous input as soon as possible.
  • I would like an Autism assessment. Can you help?
Please be aware that Speech and Language Therapists are only able to support diagnosis of Autism within a Multidisciplinary Team. I accept referrals for support with diagnosis from either Clinical Psychologists or Psychiatrists who are diagnostically trained. I, unfortunately, cannot accept Autism referrals from members of the public. I am also happy to support with differential diagnosis, if there are concerns about an individual’s speech, language and communication needs (SLCN). I am diagnostically trained in ADOS-2, ADI-R and ACIA.
  • Do you offer Clinical supervision?
I offer clinical supervision to Speech and Language Therapists who are fully certified member of the RCSLT and Speech and Language Therapy Assistants. I am happy to support therapists who work in independent, NHS and Private practices. NHS/Private Hospital Service Level Agreements I am happy to offer service level agreements to providers who are struggling to obtain in house supervision for Speech and Language Therapists who work in forensic mental health settings, or with individuals who have with autism and/ or learning disability and significant behaviors that challenge. I offer both individual and peer supervision.
  • Do you support clinical practice placements for student Speech and Language Therapist?
I currently am unable to take on any clinical practice placements. However, am more than happy to talk to students who are genuinely interested in pursuing a career in the criminal justice system and working within the legal fields, utilising their Speech and Language Therapy careers. I am more than happy to provide lectures to students and welcome requests for training from universities and businesses.
  • Registered Intermediary (RI) matters
I am struggling to get an RI for a Police/ CPS case. Can you help? Pease contact the Witness Intermediary Team (WIT) to support with this. Cases are allocated dependent on skillset, availability and forces covered. Direct requests for service to myself will not be accepted, unless allocated from the WIT. I am working with you as a complainant or witness. Can I ask a question? Unfortunately, I cannot talk to you on your own as a complainant or witness. Please remember that RIs are not able to discuss matters on cases without a Police Officer present. Any attempt to indirectly or directly contact me outside of official appointments will have to be disclosed and may impact your case if another RI is then requested as a result of contacting me to support the case going forward. All questions need to be directed towards the investigating officer (OIC).
